By booking a service, leaving a device with us, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services We Provide
We provide (including but not limited to):
- Computer, laptop, phone and tablet diagnostics and repairs
- Hardware upgrades and replacements
- Operating system and software installation
- Data backup, transfer, and data recovery services
- On-site and remote IT support (where offered)
3. Booking, Assessment & Quotes
3.1 Initial Assessment
We will assess your device and, where possible, provide an estimated price and timescale.
In some cases, a more detailed diagnosis may be required before we can give a full quote.
3.2 Quotes
All prices are in GBP. Quotes are usually valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
3.3 Authorisation to Proceed
We will not carry out chargeable work until you have agreed to the quote
(verbally, by email, text, or signing a work order). Leaving a device with us for
repair may be treated as authorisation to proceed with reasonable diagnostics.
3.4 Non-Refundable Diagnostic / Assessment Fees
Any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee is non-refundable, even if you decide not
to proceed, the device is beyond economical repair, or data cannot be recovered.
4. Data, Backups & Your Responsibility
4.1 You Are Responsible for Backups
You are responsible for backing up any important data before bringing or sending
a device to us. We are not responsible for data loss, corruption, or damage that
occurs before, during, or after our work unless we have expressly agreed in writing
to perform a backup.
4.2 Risk to Data During Repair
Repairs, particularly storage or board-level work, carry inherent risks to your data.
You accept that data, applications, and settings may be lost and that we do not
guarantee data preservation.
4.3 Data Privacy
We do not intentionally access your personal data unless necessary to complete
the repair or verify a fault. Where access is required, we will treat your data
as confidential and handle it in line with our Privacy Notice.
5. Data Recovery – Important Disclaimer
5.1 No Guarantee of Success
Data recovery is inherently risky and success is not guaranteed. Media may already
be damaged, and any attempt to recover data may cause it to deteriorate further or fail completely.
5.2 Media May Fail Completely
By authorising us to attempt data recovery, you accept that the device or media may
become unusable and remaining data may be irretrievably lost.
5.3 Previous Recovery Attempts
You must tell us if another party has already attempted recovery. Prior attempts
often significantly reduce the chances of success.
5.4 Fees for Data Recovery
We may charge a non-refundable assessment fee and a separate recovery fee if you
choose to accept the recovered data.
5.5 Limitation of Liability for Data Recovery
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of data, loss of
profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from data recovery work.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for that specific job.
6. Hardware Repairs, Parts & Warranties
6.1 Parts
We may use new, refurbished, or equivalent-quality parts as agreed with you.
6.2 Repair Warranty
We provide a limited warranty on our labour and parts for a defined period stated on
your invoice. It covers only the specific repair carried out.
6.3 Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover physical damage, liquid damage, software issues,
malware, or unrelated new faults.
6.4 Manufacturer Warranty
Our work may void any existing manufacturer warranty. You accept this risk when
we open or repair your device.
7. Payments
Payment is normally due when work is completed and before collection or return of the device, unless agreed otherwise in writing. We reserve the right to retain the device and/or any recovered data until full payment is received.
8. Uncollected Devices
If you do not collect your device or respond to us within 90 days of being informed that work is complete (or that we cannot proceed), we may treat the device as abandoned and securely dispose of or recycle it. Any data on the device may be lost.
9. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Subject to this, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including loss of data or profits), and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service.
10. Your Responsibilities
You confirm that you own the device or have permission from the owner to authorise repair/data recovery, and that you will not provide us with any device or data that is illegal to possess, copy, or work on under UK law.
11. Website Use & Content
Information on this website is provided "as is" for general guidance only. We do not guarantee its completeness or accuracy. Our site may contain links to third-party websites; we are not responsible for their content.
12. Privacy & Data Protection
We handle your personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws. For details on how we collect and use your data, please see our Privacy Notice.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us at [email protected]. We will do our best to resolve the issue with you.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted means you accept the new Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
